Synergy Enterprises, Inc. was founded in 2003. Only 7 years later, President Barack Obama invited SEI President and CEO Prachee Devadas to a meeting at the Oval Office, followed by a press conference in the Rose Garden, during which he singled out SEI's success as representative of the promise of opportunity in America. We have grown from a staff of two working at a kitchen table to a small business with roughly 110 full-time employees.
We are proud to have an employee retention rate of nearly 90 percent and an employee referral program that has resulted in 17 new and cross-division hires. In 2010 alone, more than 20 SEI employees participated in 38 professional development, training, educational, and human resource activities.
As individuals, we are deeply committed to supporting organizations—in our neighborhood, our Nation, and across the world—that help people in need. We support civic associations and nonprofit organizations, and we serve as members on governing or advisory boards. We support Haitian debt relief, the livelihood of ill children and homeless families throughout the Washington metropolitan area, English learning in the Mumbai slums, innovations in substance abuse research, and the lives of paralyzed veterans.
